hi all very interesting topic, i would like to beleive that man did go to the moon! but a small side of me says perhaps we didn't? one question i do have is if man did go to the moon wouldn't nasa have some kind of station based on the moon? or perhaps technology is that advanced yet, i do find it unreal the amount of money nasa spend but i suppose it is a good thing in the name of progress!

I wouldn't say that the US would fake such a thing. It was after the 2nd World War and even the Russians had put up a man in space. The US was the place of refuge for all the brilliant minds of the time and I am sure they had the know-how to put a man on the moon.

What intrigues me were the stories about the strange lights that the astronauts witnessed while in space. I heard that they called them "elf's" and "Santa Claus" in the video recorded on the trip to the moon.

Well that is my opinion. You may believe whatever you like.

honestly do not believe the man was already the moon, but I think that might go to it.

So, this debate is pointless. Recently, a lunar probe moved past and took pictures of some of the apollo landing sites. Evidence of the landings were still present, including the landing modules themselves. Apparently, though, the apollo 11 flag had fallen over.

As for the flag waving in the video, I've heard/read that it was actually because one of the astronaut's tied a string to it and stood off to the side making it wave. But that might be just as false as the conspiracy theory.

They just wanted to win the Russians during the Cold War and thus, they said they landed on the moon

They did a segment on this on mythbusters. After they checked out the conspiracy claims(like the flag waving etc) they concluded that it did happen. Did it happen? Id like to think so but who knows for sure? the only ones that know for sure what happened are those that landed on the moon(if they did) and God....

As far as I know, one can take a look at the moon with a telescope (perhaps they should have access to pro telescope for that) and see the footprints and stuff left from the landing?

Hmmm. I would like to see that. If thats true then that should be able to prove it?

The "problem" is that everything is already proven long ago. What keeps such discussion alive is that everybody seems to agree that the only valid way to prove your point is through arguments, not through direct experiments.

There's a mythbusters episode that can prove about half of you wrong on what you are saying.
