    Default My computer exploded.

Yeah, my computer had a meltdown and I'm trying to buy a new one but as a student am rather strapped for cash. I already have a HDD, Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse, etc. But need pretty much everything else but am retarded in regards to computers. I have put two systems together but I don't know if they're any good. I was hoping someone could have a look and tell me if there is any changes I could make that would have a negligible effect on price but improve the system overall.

    Not including delivery.

    Includes delivery.

Oh and keep in mind prices are in AUD.

if you want to save some money you might want to look at some motherboard/cpu combos. some motherboard/cpu combos are the price of that cpu alone.

the case is a bit expensive. its just a case any will do. If your buying a PSU make sure you dont buy a case that has one. Youll save money that way

you can do better on that ram as well.

    PSU is good price

I dont think youll find a much cheaper video card.

Everything is good I wouldnt change anything unless you really need to save money

If you wanna buy that Corsair PSU, I recommend you to buy another case
I think CoolerMaster is fine, drop about 40-45 bucks on it

You live in Australia? Herd of MSY?
I'd suggest looking at msy's pricelist there usually cheaper and have stores all over Australia? Check out msy.com.au and make sure you click "Select Branch" to see if there is one near you.

That graphics card you mention $118 & $130 is $104 in gigabyte brand at MSY and the bonus you don't have to pay for postage.

    Check newegg.com or tigerdirect.com

The CPU for example is $118 (USD = AUD, currently). You have to check to see what shipping to austrailia is.

    Oh, and PCs don't explode.

I've actually just purchased a lightweight setup too, without a graphics card. The breakdown was the following and it's purring smoothly on its 2 cores.

    Intel i3 540 - $120 on Newegg
    ASUS 1156 Mobo - $90 on Newegg
    Rosewell Case/PSU - $50 on Newegg
    4GB RAM - $40
    Total: 300

So yeah it was pretty cheap.

If you don't want you computer to explode again or something like that you might have to consider changing that PSU to a Corsair or another reliable brand.
