    Default New antivirus software

I just upgraded my computer to windows 7 from vista and my computer is running flawlessly, but a big issue i have right now is that I don't know what a good antivirus program i can use for windows 7 ultimate. I use to run vipre on my vista but it is unable to run on windows 7. Anybody have any ideas on what I should use?

I would recommend Avira as it is one of the best and its free for personal use. The choice of av can also depend on what runs well on your pc. You can also do some research of your own here.

Never tried avast or avira, but tried avg and kaspersky and a pen virus got in. Later I installed ESET and never had anymore troubles with a virus.

Eset is an awesome av, but no free version and you can get the same av protection with all freeware apps. In my experience:
Eset is the best with new viruses i.e. in the wild
avira best all around plus it's free
kaspersky for removing viruses if you have gotten infected.

This is just my opinion. Try a few and see how you like them.

imo, most well-known AVs will protect you well enough. however when it comes to removing infections malwarebytes is god.

ive used most AVs and never had an infection. but when helping a friend or a family member remove an infection, malwarebytes always caught everything.

I've been using Dr. Web software for about 2 years.
Also ESET is good antivirus software too, to my mind.
