    Default Hard Disk Shock Tolerance

    Hello guys,

I was thinking about upgrading my external storage with a 500 GB Samsung HDD trapped in a Scythe Kamazo 2 case. The main issue isn't the HDD or the Rack, but the specifications of the HDD, in particular the Shock Tolerance.

It is described on the official website that the hdd is capable of surviving a "Liner Shock(1/2 sine pulse) when Operating - 400 G " . Maybe some of you could explain what this means. Can it survive a fall from my desk or something like this?

    Thank you !

i think it's referring to the amount of electric shock it could handle before it breaks.

So the 400 G refers to the electric shock and not to the physical shock?
