    Default Mod Your 6950 to a 6970

    I found a guide to modding your Radeon 6950 to a Radeon 6970. The guide is here: How to enable additional shaders on Radeon HD 6950 - techPowerUp! Forums

    There however seem to be a few issues with this, involving power as the 6970 uses a 8 pin connector and the 6950 uses a 6 pin connector to the power supply.

    Yeah - that sort of power failure could definitely kill a card.
