    Default Headphones under $100 USD

I'm no where near an audiophile, I just want crisp, clear sounding circumaural headphones with very good bass.

I'm not really willing to spend over $100.. I've read so many reviews over the higher end pairs and their advantages seem to be marginal at best for non professionals.

I listen to a lot of metal, electronica, and pop music.. I also love movies and found my current $28 pair of to be very lacking for the battle scenes in Lord of the Rings and The Matrix 1080p versions.

I've been following these headphones: Newegg.com - TekNmotion PulseWave • V2 3.5mm/ USB Connector Circumaural Nex-Gen Premium Gaming Headset since they were released but haven't found too many comprehensive reviews on it being so new. There are some out there, but of the older Version 1 of these.

    Anybody have any good recommendations?

Do you have any personal experience with any of these? If so which do you prefer?

No, I haven't, but I have heard many positive feedback from lot of people including my friends.
These are many gamer's and audio enthusiasts fav gear.

I would suggest Sennheiser HD555 because they are really brilliat.

If you wanna spend all your 100 bucks, grab HD555.
If not then take Razer or Steelseries. They will be much cheaper. But sound quality is also great on these two. It is up to you wich one you take.
All these are great headphones :001_smile:

    Oh please, no skullcandy :P
Before i got my current headphones i used Sennheiser hd555's for over 2 years
    I would definitely recommend them.
They are not so much geared towards gamers, but if u want good sound and general use(movies, music, light gaming) they are great. They are also very very comfortable.
I am a music fanatic, so i listen to music more than 10 hours/day and i've never felt uncomfortable with those headphones.
And u are right about it not being worth to spend more than 100-150 on headphones. I'm currently using such headphones and while there is a difference it's definitely not worth it.
U sound like me a couple of years ago, i believe the hd555's would be perfect for u :P

I've been reading a lot of review for the HD555 or 280 Pro and many people give the impression that they don't have the most bass impact. They also seem to infer that they are best made for everything besides rock/metal/techno or basically music without a ton of bass. I don't I guess I gotta find a store that has some pairs out to demo..
