    Default Rapidshare Vs. megaupload

    Hey guys.

So, I'm going to live in the university dorms this year and they are blocking like every port in the universe so I guess it's no torrents for me (at least from there).

Like most of us, I can't live without my favorite programs (specially when most of them returning soon) so I was thinking about signing up for rapidshare or megaupload.

Sorry if this topic has already been discussed.

    So, which one is better?

    Thanks.

Both are good services but I'd vouch for MU. You can download files without waiting times, the download speeds are better than RS and the premium account is cheaper :)

    MU is better for me.

Go for MU if you want to take a premium or even a free user. It still has a lot dedicated servers for free users. As for me I don't have that high speed connection. Hence even if I had a premium A/C I would still get the same speed. So there's no point in having a premium a/c except if you aren't patient enough to wait for sometime.

Well what I think is if you are planning to buy you can go for RS cause in MU even if you are a free user it won't create much issue like RS(they even allow to download multiple file atleast you can open them and let the waiting time of 45sec. go and then click the link when your previous download is over :D :D). so in this way you can take advantage of both sites :P

but check one thing make sure they have not banned RS/MU in your colleges it was banned in my college though they didn't had much issue with torrents.

I would choose none of them but if needed i'd use a rapidleech server (there are a lot but they close every other day) or MU
In my University there were unblocked ports (most of them were <1024 like the 22), there should be a way, find an IT student there and work on a solution...
    Good luck with your studies!

Megaupload is SO much better. At least, coming from a free user. I don't know how it would be signing up premium, but I do know that Rapidshare has a tighter handle on their coypright infringement.

I would go with Megaupload personally. I've tried them both out and in my opinion I have found megaupload to be more reliable for me.

Megaupload is better! I have more download speed than in Rapidshare , and we have shortest times.

Dude why would you want to buy any of them? They offer free service based on and in most of the univeristies it a dynamic ip. You will not have any problem downloading from different PCs in computer labs. Invest your money in buying those external hard drives instead is what I will suggest. And you don't really have to depend on them. I was in downloading world for quite some time and they even have forums out there which even gives you different places other than RS and MU. I know of one for most of them movies. I can tell you about that one. PM me if you want that.

As far as if really want to buy one of them, I will suggest RS for a simple reason that they have more uploads than MU. It will be basically based on your source for those links.

P.S. I can hook you up with some of those sources as well. lol

But best deal will be, invest your money in bribing the IT guy and stay with torrents. Nothing can beat it.

I like both of these services. I would choose RapidShare, I don't know why. Maybe because it is more familier to me
