    Default Fresh MC7 install..

I got a second 1.5 TB HDD (my 320GB drive was starting to fail). So now I need to decide how to partition my HDDs and how to set up the system.

I am going to have 2 1.5TB HDDs in this system. One I have been using for a little while as my media drive.

I have a AMD 3500 X2 with 6GB ram. How should i set up this system from a HDD standpoint.

Here is what I am thinking:

    DISK0 - 1.5TB
    C - OS install (windows 7 64 bit) 250GB
    E - PVR Drive - 250Gb
F - Download drive for BTs - Remaining drive

    Disk1 - 1.5TB
    M - Movies Drive - 1TB
N - Old PVR Drive - Remove partition
    P - Photo back up drive - 125GB

Would it make more since to move my BT drive (which is currently M) onto the drive with the OS and PVR? Or should the PVR or BT drive be on the second disk?

Trying to think what the best way speed wise I should do. Not sure if the BT or PVR drives should or should not be on the same disk as the OS.

    Thanks for your help!

Also, with a fresh MC7 install what codec pack should I use? I am using a SPDIF connection to my 5.1 sound system, which does not support lossless. My main goal is to have the different formats always play in 1080 or 720 and 5.1.

If I need to stick to downloading a certain type of BDRip or x264 I will do that but the last time I htink i used Shark007 codec pack and a lot of my files played in Stereo.

    Thanks again for the help!

Well,I suggest using one of the Hdds only for lossless video acquisition and rendering,it will stress the Hdd!

I will look at that. I did set up my new HDD as my movie drive, everything else on my old drive.

Would it make sence to have the OS only or DVR drive be seperate? I have a 320GB drive I could put in this rig as well.
