It sounds like the hard drive is bad but in the event of you needing the recovery disc contact the manufacturer with the serial number they should be able to provide you with the recovery disc for a slight cost of course. Hope this helps you out

Maybe there are missing files (files important for windows). Have you tried to start the laptop in safe mode ???
If I am right and there are missing files you will certainly have to use the recovery cd that you have been given. However, if you can't find it and the laptop is still in garantee you can give it for sevice for free (at least that's what I think).

But before you do sth try to start up windows in safe mode, and see if the problem still exists.

PS If you know someone with the same laptop, ask him the rocovery disk.

    Hey TORRENTBEAST,

Are u getting a blue screen error? U probably are, but u have it to restart automatically. If u can get me this error i will tell u what to do. When restarting the OS please hit F8 continuously until u get the options for safe-mode. Then in the options u should a line that says 'dont restart automatically'. Select that then continue as nornmal. That should tell u what the error is and post it here for me to see. Once u do that i will more then likely tell u to boot to a Live CD so it would be good to go and get one like Hirens or UBCD. Thanks

Maybe the only way is the recovery cd and you have to communicate with acer in order to get one. However as I previously said if the laptot is still in garantee use acer's service.

Hope you fix the problem with no loss of files....

Try to Pop in The Recovery Disc,
And Try a Restore for the Recovery Partition

Check Website and Call Acer if u cannot find the Disc..
    Look Well, it's Really important

Before u go and do a recovery it would be best to find out what the error is first. This might be fixable without any recovery at all or it could be an issue not related to Windows. Plus if it does boil down to it and u do need to do a recovery, i can tell u how to get important files off the HDD without booting.

I do see a blue screen but it only shows itself for a second or two between the restarting and all I can make out in that time is I see the message an error occurred but it goes right back to that black screen so quickly

I just disabled the automatic restart on system failure and I have the blue screen now and it says
    UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

    For This,
Remove Your HDD, and Attach it to a PC..

Then Just put it on slave, and it will boot like a Pendrive..
Copy your files and then Restore
