I'm not trying to be a hater or anything, but I don't get the point of having videos the size of my wallpaper. Hell, TVs aren't even that big. I mean, you guys are watching this on TVs, right? I've found that any decent quality rip around 400px wide or more looks great on the plasma TV in my living room. You wouldn't even know it's not TV.

The only reason I can think of for needing video 1280w, for example, would be that you wanted to output via a projector or something. Do you guys do that?

And to be clear, not trying to put anyone down, just trying to understand.

And these nights I get high just from breathin'... when I lie here with you, I'm sure that I'm real, like that firework over the freeway...

I don't download HD content for 2 reasons: my Internet connection is darn slow and my HD is not that big. In fact I have a 320 GB drive which is 40% free and that's enough for me. I must admit I enjoy watching HD movies in my LCD TV, it's a really nice experience. Probably I will purchase a mini PC (like a mac mini) and 2 or 3 external HDs so I can save anything I want.

I have a 2TB Internal SATA, 7200RPM. It's that fast for gaming, and it's that spacious for websites and ISOs. I make a point of deleting HD stuff if I have it, because it takes up too much space and looks virtually the same. Maybe I'm just not as picky?

    Ohh...

I think you need a new TV!:001_tongue:

If you use a good Full-HD-TV, you will find the reason for HD-Rip´s!

In RL i sell TV´s, if you need help, PM me.

    400 wide?

    That's pretty small.

Have you ever tried the 1080i rips? I used to be like you, didn't care about resolution. But after switching to HD rips, it's very hard now to go back to low quality.

720P, sure not bad. But 400 to me really looks bad now...you're wasting the power of your Plasma

I use a couple of external drives & a cheap media player hooked up to my TV. Media player cost me about $60 NZ and plays most formats...

uhh....why do people like to stockpile movies anyway? Watch it --> Delete it is the principle I go-by. Keep a few that you intend to seed only...even that's unnecessary if you have a seedbox.

I use external drives, but given the fact those movies take up more and more Gb, its a matter of time I'll need storage server. For that reason I believe they will become pretty common in the next few years.
For some people like me its hard to delete movies, especially ones in HD - but on the other hand I download maybe one or two per month

Yeah storage is a growing problem for the torrent fanatics like some of us. Got 5 TB's of HDD some are in the PC some are external. I think in a month or two will buy a Seagate 1.5 TB external again :D hehe
