Default Best windows version/release for Aspire One AO751h

    Hi there !

I need to format and install a fresh copy of Windows on the Aspire One AO751h and iīm trying to find the best Windows version or release.

The Netbook came with Vista Starter and i just got rid of it and installed Windows 7 Ultimate, but since itīs my son in law netbook, it doesnīt have to be all that fancy because he donīt use all the Sevenīs Ultimate tools, itīs just plain msn, internet and browser.

These two releases got my attention:

Windows XP Pro Performance Edition Dec 2009 [MultiLingual]
    Windows.Tiny.XP.Rev10-eXPerience

    Any ideas ?

    Thanks !

Windows 7 Starter is what new netbooks usually come with. Other than that, Chrome OS and Ubuntu are fun to use and fairly lightweight :D

Microxp is very very fast, but be careful because a lot of services are shut down and you may need someone Windows Micro XP v0.82 Service Pack 3 eXPerience ŧ Free Software and Shareware Downloads WorldforFREE.net - Software Free Download, Free Software, Software Download, Freeware Download, Shareware Downloads | microxp experience | microxp | what is micr

Linux has a lot more security, and maybe is even faster ,but you need to know how it works very well if you want a fast o.s. (install it by commandline,e.g. archilinux-gentoo,recompile the kernel and patch it with ck patchset, use a quickboot init system, install a lightweight desktop enviroment as lxde and so on).
However you can use also something easier to install like dsl http://www.damnsmalllinux.org/ and http://www.puppylinux.org/

Thanks guys, but Linux is not an option because i know nothing about it and neither my son in law.

I think i will stick with XP for now since as i said he doesnīt need any fancy stuff.

First iīll try those versions i mentioned like TinyXP or XP Pro Performance.

I still want to keep this thread alive though, maybe i change my mind or be useful to other people.

You can use the XP black edition. i use this on four PCs. Quite stable and fast.
