I just wanted to share this great little addon for MediaMonkey that I've recently come across. After suffering with sluggish iTunes for a while now I finally decided to give MediaMonkey a try and it's going pretty well so far. What has really impressed me though is an addon called Last.fm Node. I'm still yet to explore it fully but one function that I have really enjoyed so far is it's auto-playlist creation. Using information about the current playing track, it checks agains the Last.fm database for related artists and creates a playlist of similar tracks. I've got quite a large music library and as fun as it is to run it on shuffle sometimes it is a bit jarring to hear minimal techno followed by alligator stomp followed by screaming death metal. Now, those days are behind me. I've tried it out with some pretty obscure and varied material and it seems to do pretty well. So if you're a MediaMonkey and Last.fm user, I highly recommend giving it a try.
