I use "warez" (rapidshare etc) only if I need something urgently, otherwise I use p2p like torrent, emule for both ethical (give back and spread what I've downloaded) and technical reasons (the files on p2p networks will last longer).

There was a time when I used "warez" but that was a long time ago. Back when I didn't even know private trackers existed. My primary method of download is through torrents but if I have to I will visit forums. I generally visit DDL communities for Apps since it seems more convenient. It might just be a habit but there seems to be more options in these forums.

I tried Warez but I hate it. I only use sometimes to down load books. The time limit between downloads sucks. It would take me forever to download a software or something big like that, because they split the program into pieces. So the wait between downloads sites like Rapidshare gives to non premium users can be a pain. With torrents you don't have that.

Torrents for sure, you can find anything since you have the right tracker
For example i have manicomio-share which is a brazilian tracker. Its the best site to get local stuff, from TV Shows to eBooks.

I am not a fan of warez, rapidshare or anything like that. My reason is simple. I just don't want to make my life as a downloader harder. Warez, rapidshare and the like usually presents the need to get a specialized download manager in order to download stuff.

Torrents are much simpler and easier to use but it gives you the responsibility of sharing back. Still, with the amount of stuff that you can obtain with torrents, it's all worth it.

I use magesy for a lot of audio software, which I used to use torrents for. With premium sharing accounts from a couple of places I find I'm getting way better speeds especially for things like 40GB string sample libaries.

Both have their uses - often if I don't want to lose ratio for something I can find easily, I'll just download it off rapidshare or something. If it's a tracker I have a decent buffer on, then I might as well use it - torrent sites take less effort, even with something like jdownloader.
