Default So yea... I'm gonna reformat now

I'll be back a little later, my shits startin to run slow, I'm gonna reformat as soon as I get this bootable flash drive made, and all my important shit transferred from my OS drive to my new 2TB HDD that I got from RMAing the old one that died. Back in a few hours. Luckily, I now install everything on my F drive, so I don't have to reinstall all my shit, just the shortcuts. HAHAHAHA Later guys. Also, what new programs do you install when you reformat? And why? If you can, please provide links to at least a description of the program, or if you really love me, a link to a torrent. LOL Thanks guys.

I have typical stuff, l;ike uTorrent, Firefox, etc. But what else is good? Thanks

    LAZ

I'm having a spot of debate now that I think of it. I've been hearing problems from friends with activated version of windows not working lately?
Anyone know anything about this? Or am I fine as long as I grab my Windows key before I do?

What a coincidence. My laptop (which was the only half-decent computer I owned) just died and now I get to get a new one :) (and migrate everything D: )

*gets ready to type long list of software*

Adobe Creative Suite Master Collection CS5
    Self-explanatory

Audacity Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder
Because sometimes I'm too lazy to open up Soundbooth. Nevertheless, it's a really small program (important for me, but you have a ******* 2TB HDD so..), and very easy to use

BitMeter Codebox Software - BitMeter II
Records your bandwidth usage, uplaod, download, has nice graphs and an ISP restrictions feature (for those of us with bandwith restricitons :( )

    Blender blender.org - Home
Free 3D modelling program. My computer is too crappy to use stuff like Autodesk, etc. so I use Blender instead. It's actually quite powerful :)

Camtasia Studio TechSmith | Camtasia Studio, Screen Recorder Software, Home
Screen-recording program, nice interface and features

CPUID Monitor Pro CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting
Great tool for monitoring laptop temperatures. They have a free version and a paid version (easily found in torrents)

    Dropbox https://www.dropbox.com/
File storage service. It creates a folder on your computer, you can put files into that folder and it automatically uploads them. You can access files from their website and synce files accross multiple computers. You get 2GB of free storage and you can earn more (up to 8GB) by inviting people for free :D

Fences Stardock.com - Your Edge In Software

Organizes the icons/files on your desktop into neat little boxes thingys. I actaully paid for the Pro Verison. I'll see if I can upload a torrent for it soemtime.

    LogMeIn https://secure.logmein.com/
    Free remote desktop service :)

Nitro PDF Nitro PDF Software — Create & Edit PDF Files
The best PDF editing software I know of (Acrobat 9 sucks)

RMClock RMClock Utility. Products. CPU Rightmark
Lets you control the voltage of your processor, to save power and reduce heat (grrr... laptops)

Sandboxie Sandboxie - Sandbox software for application isolation and secure Web browsing
Lets you run programs in a sandbox. Great for testing programs/ running programs that may have viruses, etc.

    Windows Live Sync https://sync.live.com/home.aspx
Lets you sync folders accross multiple computers. I use this to sync my Firefox profiles across my computers.

Most of the programs are free :D

I got the paid ones from good ol' Demonoid/TPB

    I paid for Fences Pro

    That's it :001_smile:

good luck with the format, hope you use the windows I suggested ;) also make sure you use the latest Daz loader, I think is 1.8.6 right now. It's on IPT

    some programs I use everyday.

    Freeware:
    FileHippo.com - Download Free Software
IMG burn: you probably now what it is
Media player classic to play videos

Team Viewer: if you like to control other computers with yours :o (torrent box for example)
Download TeamViewer 5.0.8703 Free - This software enables you to remotely control any PC anywhere on the Internet - Softpedia

Crystal Disk info: to check your hard drives health.
Download CrystalDiskInfo 3.6.4 Free - This application was designed to help you view details about your hard disk drive - Softpedia

Cleanmem: The program will install and set it to run every 30 min via the windows task scheduler. Install it and your done! The program doesn't run in the back ground, once it does its job it closes and doesn't run again until the task scheduler runs it.
Download CleanMem 1.5.0 Free - The program will install and set it to run every 30 min via the windows task scheduler - Softpedia

killcopy: KillCopy is a free application that lets you to copy files. Make sure you read the key features (makes TB cry)

    MediaMonkey-awesome,just awesome music player.

Internet Download Manager - for quick Http links or downloading videos from websites, great software!

FreeRapid Downloader - for downloading multiple links from all the known and less known file sharing servers.. aka Rapidshare, megaupload, fileflyer, hotfile and much much more,it also works by plugin input for each of those sites so no need to update the whole software.

    Vuze- best bittorrent client ever.

Process Hacker - free software like the windows process manager, except that this one can do much much more. you can track your connections, you can program trees,Dll's in use,and the most important feature - it has about 10 methods for killing a process, and an option that tries all of them until the process is killed[and it always killing it],i replaced the normal windows 7 process hacker by this one, just too great to be left out of the system.

Another great program to add to your arsenal is Jitbit Macro Recorder. It records your mouse movement and you can make macros or export to exe. I work a data entry job so sometimes i can just program it to do my work for me and then sit back and watch lol

Macro Recorder - Mouse Recorder, Keyboard Recorder, Automation Software for Windows
Jitbit Macro Recorder 4.1.0 Full - Demonoid

As far as the windows thing goes i think you should be fine. What OS did you install? I always do xp cuz my computer is pretty old and I haven't run into any problems at all.

cCleaner and Defraggler. Both are free tools from piriform. I set defraggler to defrag my drives everyso often and use ccleaner to clean the registry, uninstall programs, and free up memory
    Derpin' around again.
