    i have a low pc
2 hard drivers 250 GB and 300 GB
    3 partitions,10 GB(windows and programs),50% (5GB) free space
240GB - program kits(4GB and 13k files);installed games(20GB and 47k files/2000 folders);some movies;pictures. in total about 66k files so is at about 80% full a and here i have download folder for bitcomet and installed

and my second hard 300GB only tvshows 1.5k files 280 GB so is full 99%

    my question is:

if i somehow transfer all my files from the first hard(the one with 66k files) to my 300GB hard it will improve the performance?
i say this because my 250GB hard does all the work..... windows + all the small files + bitcomet + games

if you still don't know what i want to say listed this
windows on my 10GB partition and the rest on my 240GB partition only tvshows
my 300 GB (1 partition) games will run on that hard, bitcomet will download on that hard

if i do this will improve the performance of the windows and will stop lag that much when kaspersky scans, downloading using bitcomet or playing a game?

Well, the generic idea is to have often-used files at the drive other than your system drive (not where ur windows os installed). That will boost drive performance and prolong your first hdd life.

If both of the drives are the same transfer speed it wont make much difference to be honest. If you had an SSD and an HDD then you'd definitely see a difference.

well speed mostly depend on your proecessor speed,RAM,and ya on HDD transfer speed too..but I think HDD has enough speed to handle the operations you have defined....so I don't think it's gonna help you a bit maybe it's processor which is going 100% and causeing system to go full...try opening task manager while your kes. is scaning the PC and see the CPu and RAM usage if they are full then there is nothing you cam do about it other then delete some processes(if there are useless once) and make some space for windows to run nicely.... ;) hope ot helps....

i have no idea what is SSD
both are normal hard disks but one is on sata 1 (the one with 250GB)

when i scan with kaspersky or transfer huge files from hard to second one all the time goes to 100% CPu usage

i just think by doing that will make both hard disks slit the work not 1 does all the work

well I think it's not gonna help then if you CPU usage is going 100% means your CPU can't handle anything anymore and that is the reason why you are having glitches while scanning and transferring data.....though you can give it one shot just to see the result and for personal satisfaction.. ;)

that's the thing.... buying something new now is not really an option so i have to try anything that might help improve the performance

first of all sorry for the double comment

so i did that switch and now all my programs and games are in F:(300hdd) hard disk and all my movies and tvshows on C:(218hdd) (D:is windows 15GB and no E:)
and i dont see a huge difference in speed or lag
it improved but not by much
i never hoped for a huge changes in speed and lag but i guess is ok since i made 0 changes in pc configurations(new things)

i may get a 1GB or 520mb ram and see then if that incresses the transfer speed and fixes the lag problem(on youtube) but since i have 1GB ram i think my motherboard is just to old(almost 4 years and an average of 22 hours/day pc on)

like i said buying new things are not really an option but i guess i have to do it since my pc is dieing
thanks guys for the the comments

I'm guessing you don't have raid on your mb? Raid 0 would possibly improve your performance but you'd lose space and wouldn't have any data redundancy, so probably not what you want. You should have your data on one hard drive with the large files on the outer tracks, windows installed on the first 20-30GB partition of around of the faster drive(if it's faster), and your apps/games/etc installed on the other partition. Realistically, you won't see much of an improvement unless you upgrade to a raptor, ssd, or if you're ambitious, scsi lol.
