Default Building a PC under 440USD

    Hello,
I am from India. I want to build a PC under 440USD or 21,000INR :). It would be mostly used for gaming. I would like it to have some overclocking potential as well. I already have a creative 5.1 speaker system, a 15inch LG lcd and logitech keyboard and mouse. As this is my first build a little help would be highly appreciated. ;D

Hardware revolution has been mentioned before here, it's a great site when your trying to spec a PC build. Here's a link to their recommendation for a $400 gaming rig:

Thanks but I cannot get those components at the quoted prices in india. They cost way more here. BTW I want to get the phenom II X4 955 processor. I think I can settle for 2gb of RAM now..Can always buy some more later. I am on an airtight budget so some other recommendations will be highly appreciated :P

For cooler I will recommend you coolermaster hyper 212 , it as the best price for the clocking performance and it is almost anywhere available.

Good memory is a-data, it has good overclosking potential.
For example from 1333 ddr3 i can clock it to 1600 without a problem.

For graphic i will recommend you only ati radeon.
SO if you can find 4890 it will be the best for your money, but 5770 is good to and has some good overclockin performance.

For the other parts i wont say, because i know how it is not to have 70% of the hardware in your country and others are 50% more expensive:cursing:.

So the best it is to give us some hardware example so we can guide you trough it.

    Default Cheap gaming PC

If you are going to have a GPC you must have a

    • good vga card.
      • Must be shader model 4 or above.
      • Must be ddr 2 or above.
      • If it is 512MB or more memory it's better, Important thing is not the memory, but the features. I mean some 512MB vga cards have higher rating than 1GB vga cards.

    • Next thing is good processor.
      • Must have more than 2 cores or more.

    • Next thing is the RAM
      • It must be match with the FSB.
        • It means processor FSB to RAM bus speed ratio must be 2:1 if you are going use a processor without hyper threading.
        • Otherwise it is better you can have more RAM speed.

    • Next thing is the HDD.
      • You must have more than 25GB partition for the games.
      • If you can install games in the same Windows partition it's better.

    • Next thing is the OS.
      • It's better you can have a X64 OS. Because your processor is 64bit know.

These are the minimum for a best GPC. If you can have more its better.
