The tablet is stuck in the same 2d paradigm as other computers. Tablets may feel more interactive, but they're still a trap. You want to know what's gonna trump 2d? 3d!

The second someone comes up with a little projector device that allows you to interact with the air... that's when you can call the pc dead. Holograms, not stupid iToys, will finally shuttle us into the next wave of computer systems. Until then, it's all just purgatory.

Seriously, 3D technology has a long way to go before I'll be adopting it...am I the only person who actually enjoyed watching Avatar more in 2D? Never mind that they fleeced $3 more out of me to see it in 3D. I'll consider 3D as viable when I get the same or greater fidelity without having to wear glasses as I do with, say for example, a regular bluray movie on a 1080p large format tv.

The Nintendo 3DS is an upcoming portable game console by Nintendo, which can produce "3D effects without the need for any special glasses," a process called autostereoscopy.

Steve Jobs is a retard... A full keyboard is essential for a lot of people. For students who need to type up a report, for programmers who have to type code, etc.

He is not a retard, he is promoting his company. I'm not an Apple fan but I will admit that their advertising is top-notch.

Ok, Steve Jobs is lying to promote his company and a lot of people are retarded enough to believe him.

I think it's only a matter of time. The personal computer will become exactly that, part of your person. Eventually it will be fully integrated into the human body. The computer that filled a room to evolves to the desktop, the desktop to the laptop, the laptop to the tablet, the tablet to the... implanted chip? To think the desktop PC will stay on the desktop is ignoring all the evidence of the evolution of computing.

There's no way! Tablets are designed for portability, and no matter how fast or small the technology gets you will always be able to put that much more of the same hardware into stationary machines.

I say no. I wouldn't walk around with a tablet which to me is just a big smart phone right now. I'll stick to my laptop and desktop. I don't think any real gaming, downloading and etc.. can be done with a tablet.

Yeah as web designer and programmer, I can't see myself using a tablet to get my work done. A keyboard really is crucial.
