Thread: Will you get an iPad? and why?

I have an iPhone 3G. I have a Mac at home. I have 2 laptops (both are windows). Should I get an iPad? If you were me, will you get one?

Basically, the Idea behind a Ipad is to replace netbooks. If you have 2 laptops which you find are sufficient in doing your work with, there is no need to get an Ipad. Ipad has SEVERAL drawbacks, check some of them here.

That article pretty much sums up what's possible and what's not possible with Ipads. If I was in your position, have a lot of e-books, find it tedious to carry laptops around and have work revolving around basic word typing/browsing with the occasional movie, I may get it if I had the money.

In my case, I plan on buying the Ipad, seeing as I always wanted an easy way to read my e-books and an appliance to watch my movies instead of my desktop. I will be waiting for a few more months until the price drops or another product which suits me enters the market.

Well said dubstep! I think I am gonna pass as the next iPhone 4G is coming up and it's time for me to upgrade the phone first. I hope the performance of the new iPhone can catch up the iPad. The speed for my existing 3G is so slow...

I for one will not be getting an Ipad. Just like the whole netbook crap I don't see the point in it. I also do not ever see such "gimmicks" ever fulfilling my computing needs.

You know, I probably will end up buying one. I have the iphone and I love it. I can definitely see myself using an oversized iphone for sure! ;)

I'll never buy an iPad, it isn't a cellular, it isn't a computer, so: why the hell shall I buy it?
