    Default Building new computer

Okay, so I've decided to build a whole new computer. I was first thinking about just upgrading my old one but it's just to outdated. I'm building this rig for gaming, internet browsing, advanced application use i.e Adobe CS5, and watching HD video.

The Games that I wish to play are WoW, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Mass Effect 2, Crysis, Modern Warfare 2, Sims 3, Spore, and many others. I want to be able to play all of these games on their highest settings.

These are all Newegg parts and I was wondering what you think.

By the way, I have a really big budget. I want a computer that will last me a long time so I'll go with something more expensive if it's worth it.

    @ bingboy9..
The motherboard for Asus and Gigabyte are stable so you can't go wrong there. The HD, I would suggest you go with WD or Seagate b/c the Hitachi HD really sucks. It would be better to get 2 HD, 1 HD under 500 GB (the smaller the better) for your main OS (partition it for the OS and the rest for backup) and the other one is whatever you want (ie 1TB, 1,5TB, 2TB). The bigger the HD space, the likely hood it will die on you in a short period of time.

Thank you HD HD. I changed it so I would have 1 250GB Main HDD and 3 1TB HDDs.
Also, is everything compatible would it all fit inside of the case that I selected and could I do better?

The case is an excellent choice although very expensive. I have the Cooler Master HAF932. Which I have found to be one of the best I have ever used.

Also if you are going to be building this in a couple of weeks the Cooler Master HAF X

Cooler Master HAF-X Case Unveiled at CES | HAF-X,Cooler Master HAF-X,Cooler Master HAF-X Computer Case Unveiled at 2010-CES

I plan on getting this case when I can afford it. One big plus I see on this seeing as how you are a gamer is that it will have 9 PCI slots on the case to support Triple VGA Cards. You never know you may want more than one or two.

Also no offense to HD HD but I have two Hitachi HDD and they have worked splendidly. HDD choice should be based on your own personal experience in my opinion. Hitachi and WD have been good for me as well as samsung however I have had bad luck with Seagate whereas others probably have had great luck with them.
It's a gamble as far as I am concerned.

Only real issue I have with your build (and this would depend a bit on whether you would used a 32bit or a 64bit operating system) is you are choosing to go with the X58 chipset (i have that myself with a Core i7 920 CPU). My issue is the choosing of only 4GB stick of RAM. The X58 chipset and Core i7 CPU can support Triple Channel DDR3.

Obviously a 32bit operating system can use/recognize 4GB whereas a 64bit can recognize more (case in point I have 6GBs of RAM in my build). If you plan on using a 32bit operating system I would recommend at the very least using a 2 x 2GB sticks of RAM for Dual Channel.
