Thread: 6 Monitor, Space Friendly Goodness

I don't know what I'd use this for besides helping the people of Zion navigate the Matrix but whatev... hahah





Last year we featured the Computer Cabinet Office and now we're back to highlight the updated version with a tighter configuration of monitors and a brand new desk. The issues Steve Price was dealing with last year—inability to find a desk that fit his needs, lots of computer noise and heat—that led to him building a custom computer desk were again factored into his most recent build. His new desk drops a few monitors, angles them more effectively, and includes a under-desk shelf to keep the power strips and cables off the ground and tucked out of site. Dang, I just read an article on CPU about a graphics card capable of outputting 6 screens. ATI RADEON HD 5870 Eyefinity 6 Edition. MSRP? $479. Not to bad! This was an issue on page 22 of CPU May Vol. 10 issue 5. I want this, imagine how much porn, sports, and anime, playing World of Warcraft, on six moniters, Prolly have an extra moniter to view webpages, and burning stuff while I am having a video chat!

I think this would be totally useful. As a student programmer/developer, I am constantly taking advantage of Ubuntu's virtual desktops. Typically I end up using about 4. But having monitors like that at my reach....wow this would be truly amazing to have :).

Holy shit, that looks amazing!!!!!!! I can haz? I'd be happy with a dual setup at this point, I have 2 cards, just need that second monitor. HAHA

damn 6 monitors would be crazy to have in your room. I wonder how movies would look

6 monitors is crazy! However, the law of diminishing marginal utility might be pulled in, and you could end up losing utility from having too many monitors that you can't keep track of what you are doing.
