Hey TI
I am currently in the progress of getting my internet upgraded to a 50/50 fiber, and for the next 2 years i won't be home much at all. So i thought it would be a good idea to build some sort of small computer/torrentbox, which i can remotely control and download torrents (and of course 24/7 seeding).
However i am not quite sure how much hardware that reguires.
I'm currently thinking one of the two options here, money is not so much of an issue.
Option 1:
Core i3-530
Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2H
1x2 GB Corsair DDR3
(maybe) HD 4550
1TB samsung Spinpoint F3
Corsair PSU
Put together in a thermaltake Lanbox Lite
Option 2:
Zotac IONITX-A (CPU, GPU, PSU and Mobo)
1x2 GB kingston valueram
Samsung Spinpoint F3 1 TB
Random small case
Rest of the parts i already have laying around
Option 1 adds up to 3400 DKK ~ 600 USD
Option 2 adds up to 2600 DKK ~ 460 USD
Now my question is just what would you choose? Or do you have something third?
It's gonna be used mainly just as a torrentbox, although it will have to handle 150+ torrents, and i don't like sluggish systems! I'm gonna have tons of HD movies, and if it could play them it would be a plus, but since it won't have a screen connected most of the time, it's not really that important.
There's also the software side of things, but i think i'll take that when i get to there, however if someone can tell me the easiest way to make it possible to remotely add/remove torrents, and move between harddrives, that would be great!
Any thoughts and suggestions will be appreciated :)
EDIT: Not sure whether this should be here or in help section, but feel free to move it to the more appropriate place
