Thread: Looking for great "personal movie database"

Hey

Im in a big need to sort out all of my Movies i have burned out and on my computer, So im in a need of a moviedatabase that stores alot of info about the movie (to read about before watching ofc) nice search/filtering methods and most important of all i need to be able to put a own comment on every movie.



Anyone have any good suggestions?

Are you looking for something like the internet movie database?

The Internet Movie Database (IMDb)

Or are you looking for a program that perhaps scrapes the imdb for info and turns your PC into a home theater. In that case you would want to look into XBMC.

Ye im into scraping the net for info for the movies i have in my collection, have gone trough a huge amout of programs but havent fonf any that really appeals me, XBMC looking good tho, have to sit with it to see if it can do the stuff i want it to do.

Im still up for more suggestions. As said i want a program that can hold all kinds of information about the movies i add, and also have filter etc for sorting things out. a plus is if it has decent looks

XBMC is highly customizable as I understand it (skins etc) although I haven't actually played with it very much. If you really want to go crazy then you could always use Hyperspin as your front end for movies.

I use Movie Label 2011 and its great. I just point it to my HDD with all my movies and it reads the titles and adds them to the database. You can pick from multiple sources where it gets the movie information like IMDB, etc. Try it out, its the most complete program I've come across so far.

i use "yet another movie jukebox", it was for popcorn hour, however, i found it is also good for browsing info, it generates html based index pages
