Um.. I didn't intend this thread to be a string of short answers of everyone's fav add-ons. If your not going to post what you like about it or why it is useful then don't bother posting at all. There's plenty of "rate the username" type threads to get your post count up.

If you want to add to this post then explain why you like the add on for the benifit of other users on the site and if the add ons already posted don't repost it unless you've something else valueable to add.

There are some nice ones listed that I use as well. Here are some that I find handy:

Context Search: You can highlight a term and search it on Google/Youtube/Wikipedia/etc. so less steps to take if you want to learn more about something.
Flashblock: Play flash ads on your own terms. 'Nuff said. Also, it may load pages faster since all the flash videos aren't loading; you just click the play icon to play what you want (like Youtube, for example).
Linkification: Turns all links on a page into real clickable links so you don't need to copy and paste them into the address bar.
ReloadEvery: I use this to reload tracker pages at a specific interval so I can grab the newest torrents as fast as possible.

Of course, YMMV on how useful you find it or if it even works well on your version of Firefox. Give it a try and see

Adblock Plus and NoScript are absolute essentials for me, especially on my Mac, where combined they can block all those flash ads which steal my CPU.

NoScript combined with XMarks is even better, because I can synchronize both my standard bookmarks, and my NoScript configuration across computers/OSes (its a NoScript setting). Since I tend to significantly tweak the standard NoScript settings, the bookmark sync is a godsend.

SkipScreen is also tremendously useful, since it adds autodownloading for rapidshare, megaupload, and a bunch of similar download sites, making using them a lot less irritating for someone too poor to actually buy accounts there.

Finally, I like ForecastFox as a basic weather info bar in my browser, since I don't like gadgets cluttering up my desktop, and it's extremely customizable to what I want to see in the menu bar.

    Ad-Block Plus for obvious reasons.

    Screengrab
since I take many screenshots and has helped me many times. Save a selection, the visible portion, or the window. Really awesome and highly recommended.

    All-In-One Sidebar
. Awesome sidebar that can save you time and has everything easily accesible.

Download Statusbar because I don't like pop ups for my downloads. One of the oldest and most awesome addons. Very clean and tidy.

Greasemonkey since it helps me customize webpages, check links, add more functions at some trackers etc.

FastestFox. I really can't tell how many minutes or hours this addon has saved me. It linkifies URLs, auto loads next pages, improves searching, gives you a pop up to search highlighted words in youtube/wiki/google etc., gives definitions, and has a quick launcher. What else do you want?

Firebug. Easily edit the content of a page, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live.

    Stylish
because it makes adding themes in webpages really easy.

Adblock plus - blocks almost every type of ad wish it had one more feature tho, BLOCK THIS AD which lets you select an ad it missed. doesn't happen often, but when it does its usually those annoying talking video ads that no one likes (ie. QJ has a honda ad that doesn't get blocked)

Autopager- turn multiple page sites into one never ending page. absolutely priceless on google

speeddial- A MUST DOWNLOAD. sorry i get a little excited i use it on chrome and firefox, it allows me to take my most used webpages and add shortcuts to all of them on my home page

Chatzilla- i barely ever use irc so why should i have to download a client? i just wish this was availible for chrome

Download manager tweak- i absolutley LOATHE that stupid download popup. this allows me to change it into a new tab which is alot less aggrivating
