Mac users have not had the advantage of many games coming their way... they may want to tell everyone otherwise, but they would secretly wish that they could get more out of their system, entertainment wise :P

    Now they can... :)

It would seem that with the announced update to Steam, Valve has reportedly left some clues that a potential port of Steam to Mac OS X might actually be in the works. While Valve isn’t talking, our sources tell us that the beta has offered some clues that seem to indicate it could be in the works.

The decision to bring Steam to the Mac OS X platform really isn’t that surprising because a number of publishers are already using the Steam service to offer Mac versions of their titles. Publishers and developers such as Electronic Arts, id Software, PopCap Games, and Take-Two Interactive all offer Mac products and it could be an excellent way to ramp up gaming on the Mac OS X platform.

There is no word yet on whether this is actually the case or if the funding of some of this Mac related stuff has more to do with a multi-platform development tool that just happens to have those things in there as part of their package. Sources tell us that Valve has looked at the possibility of bringing Steam as well as some of their titles to the Mac OS X in the past, but no one from Valve has ever really gone on the record suggesting that internal discussions ever got beyond being talked about. We are sure that Valve will comment, as they will not want to keep the possibility alive if it isn’t going to happen.

Let's hope this actually happens, and that game devs start developing for the Mac OS.

You don't even need this, there are already a ton of games out there for OS X. Cidering (porting games over to OS X in a wrapper) is already very popular (see portingteam.com) and almost anyone can port games over. This would just bring Steam to OS X, which would in fact be pretty cool...I'm not gonna lie.
