OK 256GB in a compact form is quite impressive... However, this is an e-peen contest that i'd rather not be a part of...

Kingston has prepared a DataTraveler treat for US customers, a 256GB flash drive. Measuring 73.7x22.2x16.1 mm, it is a bit bigger than your usual USB flash drive, it still can store the equivalent of 54 DVDs.

The new DataTraveler DT 310 features a USB 2.0 interface and has maximum read and write speeds of up ot 25MB/s and 12MB/s, which is not that bad. It is bundled with Password Traveler software and backed by a five-year warranty period.

The ugly side, of course, is the price, which stands at around US $1,100, but that those that need 256GB of storage capacity probably won't mind it. Consumers who find this one a bit too expensive can always go for the DataTraveler 200 128GB, which sells for around US $400.

It's a real shame they didnt make it USB 3.0 - Can you imagine how long it would take to fill this thing lol.

Hmm.. I don't know why someone would pay $1100 for a flash drive, when they can get that much in a external HD for a much cheaper price. I mean i'm pretty sure everybody has enough room to carry around an external HD.

That sounds awesome you could carry all the files you need in your pocket, but the price is insane...
