EA had sometime ago threatened to withdraw and with hold new pc gaming titles... Seems like their marketing and legal departments joined at the hips... and now those sons of bitches and bitches themselves are going to take away one of the greatest joys of my life...

One positive thing that PC gamers can say for Electronic Arts is that they have continued to bring ports of multiple titles to the PC that many other publishers would have passed on. Still, the company has pulled back with some titles, such as the last installments in the Madden and NHL franchise not getting a release on the PC.

It appears now that this trend is going to continue, as despite the fact that they have not announced it publicly, our sources suggest that EA will be pulling back from offering ports of many titles for the PC platform.

It would appear that one of the first victims of this new direction is Dead Space 2. According to our sources, EA has confirmed that despite the release of the first installment in the Dead Space franchise for the PC, the second offering will not be getting a PC release. The official word is that the company has no plans for PC SKU at this time.

This decision will likely cause some waves in the PC gaming market space. Right now, the number of gaming titles that are being released for the PC isn’t what it once was, despite the fact that Microsoft has recently been attempting to make some headway by bringing gaming back to the PC/Windows platform.

Only sales numbers are going to really bring the publishers and developers back; and right now they see a greater potential for success on the closed console systems where sales are higher and piracy is less. Many of the developers that we have spoken with say that they grew up as hardcore PC gamers and they would like to continue to develop for the PC, but with the piracy rate as high as it is and sales as low as they are for most titles, when compared to the console numbers it just is a hard sell.

We expect that this trend will continue despite the fact that Microsoft really needs gaming on the Windows platform and unless the company starts really getting involved, even fewer gaming titles will be released. The experience of many games on the PC/Windows platform is better than console systems; but that is a message that just doesn’t seem to matter right now, as everything is driven by sales, with money the deciding factor.

there are reason why ea sales figures are so low....it's cos their games are utter rubbish
an example of a game they've ruined is command and conquer: Kane's wrath

now in an rts game, whats the quickest way to take out infantry who cant shoot down air targets? thats right....machine gun fire from aircrafts.....but u better think again before u shoot those scrin bugs with ur hammerhead in a multiplayer match cos BAM! the game stops and a message comes up saying the game has "desync-ed".....now wth that message means has been of much debate amongst cnc fans....actually EA doesnt even know what that message means or how to fix it so a patch was never released lol

im dreading the release of the final cnc4 in about 30 days.....it looks epic...but my instincts are telling me the anticipation of waiting for the release is going to be way better than the gameplay itself
