I am trying to access something on hulu, and also fileplanet, and it requires me to be in North America. Somewhere that I am not... Is there any way to make it think I am?

I have the same problem (obviously).
I tried using some proxies but there is a detector which tells you you're behind a proxy and hence won't allow you to watch the contents.
Further, unless you're very lucky you'll get some very slow proxies which "don't get along with" videos
Other solutions?
Use a good a VPN provider. One good VPN that comes to mind is BlackVPN. U have to pay for it, but thats how it is with all good VPN's.
Also, if u have a server hosted in the U.S then u could use that to obviously get passed this region locking. Another way is if u have a seedbox, with ssh access, hosted in the U.S. Then can tunnel the HTTP connection to your home web-browser to also get by this.
I recommend to do what MikeD has suggested, it works. I have used hotspot shield in the past and it worked, I dont know if it still does. But Xirvik also provides a vpn free with their seedboxes or for 8 dollars by itself.
