I have an EVGA mobo and I am happy with it. Newegg.com - EVGA E758-A1 3-Way SLI (x16/x16/x8) LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards
I am running that with an Intel Core i7 and 6GB Ram.
Newegg.com - Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield 2.66GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops
Newegg.com - CORSAIR XMS3 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TR3X6G1333C9 - Desktop Memory
I don't have any advice specific to a motherboard brand. But when purchasing a motherboard make sure you can return the item if it is either broken or you don't like it. I remember buying a broken motherboard from Newegg, and I was able to return it and purchase a new one.
