Anyone else used this malware removal program? I find that malware/viruses like Antivirus 2008 always get past antivirus programs, and once in they are bitches to remove! But I found that I can quickly and easily install malwarebytes anti-malware and it removes the virus easily. But I need real-time protection from these kinds of threats.

Altho malwarebytes does have real-time protection available to registered users, I find that it slows my computer down too much.

Anyone else recommend any good real-time malware protection? Preferrably something that is light on ram and extremely fast and easy to use.

    Cheers

    Malwarebytes is increadible!

imo, I have not come close to finding anything like it. Try Spyware Doctor (OpenDNS was another god one but it escaped me...

easily the best anti malware program out there i work at a large pc retailer..(if i told you who you would all flame me... lol) and even we have in the past resorted to using that on a customers machine rather than our extremely expensive specialist software that wouldnt do the trick... so awesome ware IMHO a must have in anyones arsenal

This lil app got me out of a bend when my ISP suspended my account for reported spamming (I thought my connection was just bad, darn stubborn lil bugger that malware was to get out too but its gone now without reformatting).

I have a licence for webroot sypsweeper but its crap, I don't use it (although it was good when I was working for g**gle). I don't like Spyware doctor either (imo, good for the home user, not great for the power user).

I'm currently using PC Tools Threat Fire which is not a total piece of crap but its probably better at prevention than cure which sounds like what you are looking for. It's pretty light on memory too. May be worth checking out...

This program is tops! I got hit with that "antivirus2009" virus and this was the only program that would completely clean it off my system. That virus was one of the nastiest (best written) ive encountered in ten years on the web too!
