Does anyone in here have one?
I was studying what i wanted .. if it was a NAS server, RAID, JBOD ...
Now I finally understand what i really want: a windows home server
I have a Samsung LCD LED Tv with ethernet connection and DLNA compatible.
WHS is DNLA capable so my TV can read all the files on that box.
I also have Silicondust HDHomeRun .. and this is Windows MEdia Center compatible.
I see HP has some WHS boxes using Atom and Celeron processors. I understand Atom is great power saver, but I am not worried about that.
I want performance.
Here is box I am planning to build
CPU
Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core Processor E6300
Motherboard
Intel Media Series BOXDG45ID Socket 775 Desktop Board
Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD onboard graphics subsystem with integrated HDMI + DVI-I display ports
Intel® 82567LF Gigabit Ethernet Controller
Six Serial ATA 3.0 Gb/s ports, including 1 eSATA back port with RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 support
Intel® High Definition Audio
8-channel (7.1) audio subsystem with five analog audio outputs and one optical S/PDIF digital audio output using the IDT 92HD73E audio codec
One PCI Express x16; Two PCI Express x1; One PCI Conventional
Memory
Corsair 4GB DDR2 PC 6400 Desktop Memory
Processor is the best for its price range ($80 at frys)
Motherboard has 6 SATA and RAID support
What are you guys setup?
Does my plan make sence?
What are the must have WHS plugins/addons ?
PS: I travel with some frequency and Id like to have my NBA games streamed. I have iphone and if this can decode video on fly and play on iphone it would be awesome too.
