Lately, I've been trying to avoid cracked (or keygened) software. This is not a moral decision, it's just a test for branded computers. I used to work for HP and I have an Pavilion myself, that means I got an OEm license for Windows Vista Home Premium, tons of HP's buggy software, basic editions of third party programs like Cyberlink DVD Suite, and trial versions of Norton 360 and Ms Office Home & Student. But... What happens on the 61st. day? All of a sudden you have to face like $250 in licenses, or either find some "medicine" for them. That's the point where I decided to search for free programs that cover my needs. The only exception is the security software because free versions are a real pain and the one I use is just $28.49 .... So here's my list:
Security - Avira Antivir Premium - $28.50 - free-av.com (free version is a pain in the.... neck)
Music Player - Winamp - Free for personal use - Winamp Media Player - MP3, Multimedia, and Music Player
Office Suite - Openoffice.org - Free for personal use - OpenOffice.org - The Free and Open Productivity Suite
IRC Client - LeafChat - Free for personal use - leafdigital leafChat - IRC chat client
File Compression - 7zip - Free for personal use - 7-Zip
CD/DVD/BRD Burning - CDBurnerXP - Free for personal use - CDBurnerXP: Introduction and News
Pdf Reader - Adobe Acrobat - Free for personal use - Adobe - Adobe Reader download - All versions
Pdf Editor - Free PDF Editor - Free for personal use - Free PDF Editor
Media Player - VLC MEdia Player - Free for personal use - VideoLAN, Free streaming and multimedia solutions for all OS!
Also codecs,P2P clients, DVD rippers and shrinkers are free. I don't list them because I think they are all well known to all of us.
Feel free to make comments and suggestions.
