I'm looking for a program that allows me to force my laptop's internal fan to run constantly, instead of just turning on when *it* feels that it needs to, as this is not enough.

Having control over the speed at which it runs would also be helpful.

The laptop is an Alienware running Vista 32bit if it matters.

Need help? PM me and I'll find you the answer.

    Hey,

Ok so here a few things to try.

First off, most fans especially in laptops are controlled by a temp gauge. When it hits a certain temp it will turn the fan on.

    1. Go into the BIOS and see if there are any fan settings, you can sometime change it to ALWAYS ON, or perhaps change the temp in which it will kick in.

    2. If for some reason the fan isnt coming on when its should normally, attempt to spray it out with some compressed air to get rid of any dust that could be causing an issue.

    3. If none of the above work, get a laptop cooling tray, they are around 30 dollars and sit under your laptop. they usually have a few fans in them which cools the laptop quite well, i own one myself.

Also, speed control would be in the BIOS if there are any.

Lastly, if your unsure how to get into the BIOS, you want to press DEL or F2 (usually) on startup and it will enter into the BIOS, from there check for the settings you need.

    Hope this is helpful.
