    Does your friend sure about cutting the metal thing? Maybe I'm out of date, but the card looks dead to me if your system couldn't detect the card. Hope someone here can really help it:)

    rofl I have seen this before. An oldie but a goodie

    For the non technically initiated: That's a PCI-E Graphics card dremel'd to fit into a PCI slot, not exactly.

    Yeah I've seen a few variations of this before. Last one I saw was an AGP cut down to fit a PCI slot.

    your friend just cut off a piece of his card and want it to work ??

    it seems that the card is dead .. I don't think there's a way to fix it ..
