Thread: Best software to stay safe while torrenting

Just wanted to get all you opinions on which software you all use to stay safe while downloading. IP hiding software etc..

The only thing I use is PG2 with as many trustworthy and constantly updating lists as possible.

Obviously use virus scanning programs as well for torrents that seem odd.

I feel secure enough. I don't believe I'm really that much of a power downloader to be in too much risk.

if you want to truly hide your IP from people, buy/rent a fast socks/proxy or VPN server and download thorugh that. PeerGuardian basically doesnt allow certain IPs to connect to you, that does not guarantee you being able to hide your IP from officials or anti-piracy groups.

PeerGuardian2 is a must for any p2p user.
It also cuts down on spy-ware.

the private torrents thing looks like the safest way to me

aint no software thats gonna keep you safe. just use common sense and stick to small private trackers that you trust.
