Yeah , I can agree that WD are probably the best HDDs on the market.
Also MAXTOR are good too .

I would recommend the Samsung Spinpoint F3 1 TB.
Very fast drive, cheap and quite cool as well.
I have four of these babies in a NAS and they haven't failed me for nearly a year now.
I have tried many different HDDs and those F3's are clear winners!
For pure storage only, Samsung F4 EcoGreen 2TB are awesome. Cheap, quiet and low power consumption, but not the fastest. If you want speed, Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB.
I recommend seagate, I use these HDDs for over 5 years, and no problems with that
haha lol i buy two seagate and they both died fast. I recommend WD they work for years great :D
WD - green drives - energy saving - great for media centres, NAS drives etc
I have 2 1TB 's in raid 1
I'm using Samsung G2 right now. So far I prefer this model over any of WD's. WD is good, but I've no idea why they are having trouble with the system stability right now. Seagate has always been the best. It is expensive. But it's worth the money spend.
My thoughts,
Value for money= SAMSUNG
Big Spender= SEAGATE
Lab Rat= HITACHI
