I have an HP Pavilion and it sucks so bad for gaming. Does anyone have a good gaming laptop? I want to know the best ones out there and a good deal for my money. I'm talking about games like Left 4 Dead (and Left 4 Dead 2 in November), CoD: WaW, Counterstrike/Counterstrike Source. I also play MapleStory but this one suffices. It'd be nice to leave this one running for torrents and then I can play games on the other whilst I seed! Nice.

Well you asked for the best laptop and here it comes : Progress UXG i7920N Faith Japan's First Core i7 Extreme Edition with 3 SSD Notebook : Akihabara News .com
Core i7 965, GTX 280 :P - but I wouldn't even call it a laptop since the weight is around 11 pounds and the batteri time is properly....
But well to the serios part. I must admit that I don't know the exact system requirement for COD but I suppose thats its around the same as L4D. It is not a question about what brand you are buying, a HP can easely be good for gaming. But where most laptops fail is the GPU!!!! You must make sure that you get one with 512 MB DEDICATED ram, this can be either nvidia 9xxx or Ati 4xxx that you would head for.
As for the cpu you will need to head for a dualcore atleast on around 2,2 gch as a minimum! I Would suggest a bit more if your going for amd, and if its going to play games in the future (l4d 2 might require more) then would I head for a 2,4 gch + dualcore atleast or maybe a quadcore.
About the ram you will want atleast 2gb if your running xp and 4gb if your running vista. With windows 7 3gb should be enough, ( 3 gb would maybe also be enough on vista). As a last thing when your speaking about running games this is the priority you should make : gpu>cpu>ram>rest.
Hope this helps or else I Will have to link to some danish sites lol:D
But feel free to post a link to a specific computer and I will check it out.

Toshiba makes decent ones.. I used to have an x200 from them, it was quite nice but it had vista on it and gave me errors all the time while playing games, so I sold it and just went back to a desktop. If you do get a toshiba thoug just make sure you keep it well ventilated..those things are notorious for overheating!

    Hi Rosey,

    I bought an Asus G1s.
    It has a nvidia 8600m gt 256mb.
I can play CoD:WaW, CS Source and Team Fortress 2 without lost performance.
In my opinion this nb is excellent until now the only game that I had to make some setups was Crysis.

So I hope this information help you.

Btw what Pavalion was it? Because it might just be virus / spyware there cause it to be slow. Can you post the specs of it ? HP Pavilion HDX X18-1100EO Premium (Danmark, Finland, Norge, Sverige) (494461) - Pris TOP 10 - EDBpriser.dk pavilions like this one can easely play the mentioned games.
Another thing you might want to know is that neither Acer or Toshiba is known for producing quality products. But their perfermance/price is pretty good, so say what you exactly are heading for and what your budget is, at that way we should be able to link you a pretty good computer.

Dell Vostro 1500 with vista as a gaming computer ? your not serios right? Gaming with vista with a integrated graphic card and 1 gb ram and a 1,86 celeron singlecore processor?
Grand Theft Auto IV - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia check the minimum requirement, either your not playing GTA 4 or else you don't got a Vostro 1500 or else your definition of fine is like 3 fps?

Sorry for being harsh, its imo just fail to claim that it can run GTA 4 when all test and specs shows its impossible. And it would therefore be sad if he brought that exact PC and believing it couild run it.

On the other hand its no suprise that Asus G1s can run thoose games:) fine GPU and so on, but if you wants to make sure it can run further games with in good settings you migth want to head for a newer version.
