Do you really need this much processing power on your laptop ?
I wouldn't buy a powerful laptop just for browsing and microsoft office kind of work.
Also, consider that under load, it will inevitably heat up much more then slower, cheaper processors which can lead to lower components life.
actually his use will not by only for office etc , matlab and some other programs i presume will be needed to run on my laptop while ill use it..
You don't really need an i7 for programs like matlab. I use various programs for programming and developing and I have found that even using all of them together on my i5 is just too much. I use Visual Studio, netbeans, SQL server edition, MSDN, FTP programs, text editors, photoshop etc and it even works on my PC at work which is a dual core! Well, yes, slower but it doesn't feel like a snail on a horse race either mind you.
This is a chart of matlab's requirements for instance:
Just get a quad and 4GB RAM or something. Now, if you are looking to spend your money to get a shiny glitter-like-twilight laptop, then go ahead I guess
Edit: I am only trying to be humorous, don't take it personally![]()
