Just found out the windows verison for XChat, and it's pretty awesome! Simple and easier to use than mIRC.

I'm using irssi. Only downside is that I haven't figured out how to get notified if there is a new personal message.

I prefer mIRC and I run it with my own script.

KVIrc on Windows for me : open-source, a lot of documentation, extensive FAQ, history about the project. The client itself is full of features. FiSH support is included by default. One of the most complete i've seen. It's using the Qt framework so it doesn't take too much ressources and is multi-platform (Windows,Mac OS X, Linux).

mIRC is outdated on several points, Multi-server login is the best example.

I don't usually stay on IRC, but when I had to for different reasons I always used mIRC.
