Drivers are the software link between hardware and a computer's operating system. They help the operating system to communicate with the hardware. Revisions or updates to driver software can also unlock new features of a piece of hardware. And if you have an internal or external disk drive, you'll want to ensure that the drive is using the most current software drivers. But there's no need to scour the Web for updated software for you drives. You can let your operating system do the searching for you.
Instructions
1- Click on the "Start" button, and then select the "Computer" option from the menu.
2- Right-click on the any of the drive icon in the Computer menu, and then select the "Properties" option from the pop-up menu that appears.
3- Click on the "Hardware" tab in the Properties menu. Click on the drive that you wish to update, and then click on the "Properties" button.
4- Click on the "Driver" tab, when the "Device Properties" menu appears. Click on the "Update Drive" button under the "Driver" tab.
5- Select the "Search Automatically for Updated Driver" option in the "Update Driver Software" menu. If updated software is found online or on your computer, Windows will update the drive automatically.
