Thread: DirectX 11 to get announced this month

OpenGL is a open source equivalent of DirectX.

Many games like Quake 4 & halflife has a option to use it.

I have seen OpenGL handle effects way better than DirectX.



Xp has it preinstalled, as so many things use it.

OpenGL is only graphics, whereas DirectX handles audio as well.

Best of all it is 100% Linux compatible.

Can't wait. Looks like MS are stepping up their DX release schedulle. Hopefully it'll give the developers more toys to play with for upcoming titles!

Good for now to have that officially released better than those 3 fake DLLs made by an amateur to play games when first came out such as Crysis....I remember lots of Blogs & forums used to host this pack just to get more & more people to use it....Still I couldn't rely on it since I don't believe in unofficial stuff !

well how does it work ??

Based on how slowly features from DX10 were adopted and previously from DX9, few of these features will appear anywhere in the near future.
