As thin as a few sheets of paper, smaller models can be lifted with just three finger effortlessly. But what makes these TV's THAT special? Wel OLED stands for Organic light emitting diode; basically their is no need for a backlight as in most standard plasma and LCD displays. Not only does this makes these displays ultra thin, but it saves huge amounts of power, meaning that it can be powered on for oh-so-much longer than an LCD. perhaps this is the future of laptops as we know it. Who knows. a few 32GB flash NAND chips linked together in a way simular to RAIDII, a carbon fibre case and an oled display. what do you get? a laptop as thin as a mousemat, with amazing battery life and best of all, practically shockproof.
So how much will these brilliant TV's cost, you ask. Well, due to it being the latest technology and the rapid degration of the materials used to make OLED's, not cheap. At the moment, the largest available is 11 inches, and the largest prototype is 40.
Now, the big questions. What do you think, how much would you be willing to pay and of course, how do they look?
