I think Kaspersky is a vary good av, all in all it comes down to what you like and proformas will on your pc. everyone will have there own say so but if you use some common seance and a wellknown av you will be fine no need to pay outrages prices for av protection.

Another one that is good is the norton they really step up in 2011, you can get that free through comcast.

But I use Avast its light ,works great and its free, I use the paid version now but thats just because ive been using them for years now and wanted to show some support.
The paid is like $30/3 pc's, and it comes with a fire wall and a few other things.

im not sure but i think the vary best is Eset but that could have changed im not sure.

I will say in my personal opinion the best anti-virus is no anti-virus at all I mean really unless you don't know what you're downloading then you'll never have an issue at all besides many AV programs slow down your computer and it's completely unnecessary.

Yes, but no one buys av so that they can download viruses, its there to protect them incase. you can get a virus simply opening an email. No one ever really knows what they are downloading, they just trust the name and the uploader.

What do you mean no one really knows what they're downloading, why would anyone download something they don't know and trust already? Also I believe this whole thing about getting viruses from emails is bs In my lifetime I've never had such an experience I mean unless you dl attachments, but than once again why would you? it's all about making smart choices. Even in the unlikely chance that a virus does get in does it really matter just a go back to a previous restore point or reinstall windows, both take like 30 min at maximum, better than sacrificing cpu speed and getting false virus alerts constantly, just my personal opinion

I've had the best luck with Avast, all the other ones always seemed to let something leak in that avast always cleaned up for me afterwards.
