    Default iPhone?

So i'd like to program for the iPhone (i have an associate degree in Computer Science) but the issue is getting a mac to Program on. So I had an idea about how to get/Build a Mac. I was hoping to get donations. If i had 600 people give a dollar i could build a Hackintosh. So down to my question. What do Yall think would be the best way to get donations for my project?

I am not suggesting that you download a pirate version of Mac os but you can emulate it Guest_OSes - VirtualBox on a simple PC (a lot cheaper and easier than asking ppl for money).
You need to have a certain CPU (Intel not too recent not too old and so...)

VirtualBox is only one example. I think a lot of emulator (on Linux) can do that.

I've Tried it b4 and worked for weeks on it and apperently my AMD setup i have isn't compatible. That was my first option instead of having to get a new system.

Haha well i've seen people band together and donate small ammounts of money i've had a few real live friends give me some money i've got about 50$ there but even getting a new cpu would require a new mobo and at that point i might as well finish building the computer. ya know?

I realize that iPhone is a really glamorous development platform right now, but what exactly is your motivation for wanting to develop apps? Is it for your own personal use (that's what 90% of the programs I make are for), or do you actually plan to give it out for free or for pay?

If for personal use, I recommend you look into creating web apps. They will run on iPhone and you can make them look and behave like a real app with a little jQuery and Photoshop work. You can actually read a good book on the subject for free here: Building iPhone Apps with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript - OFPS - O'Reilly Media

If for distribution purposes, make sure you factor in the other costs. In fact, even if just for personal use you will need a Developer license which runs $99/year.

I understand the Developers License Pricing that is part of the reason I was looking for a way to get small donations. And the reason I Choose the iPhone is b/c it seems to be the most stable. I Started out going for android but as i researched the market is too fragmented IMO I even went as far as to buy an Android to develop on. After a few months of hit and miss (testing the app on friends devices) I've decided to Go with apple. I just need some stable examples that I can code so that I have a portfolio To get a Job My degree means nothing with out work to back it up.
