Looking for a new 2Tb HDD what is the best one to go for?? My price range is around $100 maybe a little more if i could get a 3Tb HDD.

Are these any good?

If you're going to get that one, why not get the 2.5Tb for 110 instead?

I am using four WD2001FASS and four WD20EARS. I really like the WD2001FASS and with the 64mb cache, it's super fast transfers. They also come with a 5 year warranty.

Personally I've had better luck with Samsung than Western Digital, and until Seagate starts building the Samsung HDDs I'll stick with them (once that day comes, I'm not sure what I'll do - hopefully Samsung QC will stick around).

Anyway, I have 4 Samsung HD204UI. They sell for about $80 (and I've even seen them on sale for as low as $70) and their benchmarks blow the similarly priced Western Digital (WD20EARS) out of the water. In fact, they're nearly identical to the 2TB WD Black that greatham mentioned. The key being that the WD Black sells for about $140.

Speed isn't actually a concern of mine for the HDD though (got the SSD for that), it's all about reliability when you've got that much data that could just be gone with a hard drive failure! And based on the Newegg reviews, the Samsung drive gets a 4/5 while the similarly priced WD only gets a 3/5. And both have the same 3 year warranty.
