I wouldn't recommend running it in VMWare as it's quite slow, the best way would be this method if you don't want to buy a Mac (you will need to have an operating system disc of Mac OS X though for this - but it's cheap):

The only problem with installing Mac OS X on a PC is that the there might not be the right drivers written for your hardware, but it may work out.
On the whole though, Macs are nice. I own a Macbook Pro and it works good, the operating system is quite nice and the software is good.
However, things have changed in regards to multimedia applications for the PC, there's a lot of great choices for it and alternatives to Mac software for it. So you may just want to look into alternatives instead of getting a Mac or Hackintosh just to run some multimedia software.
