i like to use ubuntu, mainly because i got used to the package manager. i've also used red hat's rpm system before, and i can say they're about equal in how hard they are to use. only reason i won't switch back is because then i would have to re-learn it again lol. really the package managers are the main differences in the different distros, plus maybe some theming (which you could of course install on a different distro if you wanted to put in the effort). it really doesn't matter too much which distro you use, it will take probably about the same amount of time to learn the packaging system and then it's pretty much all the same. (on the other hand, gentoo's package system is crazy... buiding everything from source takes hours lol.)
i really like Debian. It's just fantastic for desktop and server use.
Ubuntu. Because it's easy to install and use and has a huge repository. Also has a loco (local community) in almost every country.
agreed with btard11 ... thats one of the reasons i chose Ubuntu
mainly use windows because i need office and vmware for school, but been playing around with ubuntu and heaps of other OS's over the last couple of years and ubuntu is great if you just want a user friendly easy to install user environment and the most known, what i find though is all ubuntu and its variants are just to bloated with crap i don't feel necessary so i recently started using archlinux and so far i am loving it.
"Arch Linux" because it makes you learn Linux the hard way, you need to configure everything yourself... and it's very lightweight

Well I have both a PC and a MAC. I've allways been a PC person since I like to have control over my computer. And PC allwos you to control it more ( what i mean is to change configs and settings). Another good thning wiht PC is that there is many more programs for it than to the MAC. But for school were you dont need so much programs its easier with a Mac, and faster. The battrey time on a MAC book is far more better than practicly all PC laptops. But I really hate the way Apple wants to control you.
Dual boot with Ubuntu and Xp.
I love ubuntu and need xp to rip cds and add songs to my ipod. Itunes or any other program doesn’t work with ubuntu unfortunatey.
