Default I have read the rules....or someone else's introduction

I am not yet qualified to rep people in yet, but I read over introductions occasionally so when I can rep people in I know what to look for. One of the things I've noticed is the:

I have read the rules and the secret password is:
i cannot find it anywhere, argh.

Now A new user could read over the rules or....he/she could just read someone else's introduction and just copy and paste the password.

    My ideas are:

    1) Restrict new users from reading other introductions besides their own. The only disadvantage to this is that new users might be at a disadvantage when comparing other users applications to their own. I know their is a template guide but every little bit helps.

    2) The more complicated way is to somehow create a dynamic password that changes with each user and we can easily associate that password with the user for verification. A good example is too keep the password in the same spot but randomize the phrase each time and when the user accesses that page attach that phrase to a msql database associated with the user name that can be accessed by anyone with 33% rep or higher. Yes this would mean a huge project for something so little, but I think it would improve the quality of user we get here at TI.

    Ideas? Opinions?

I read other peoples intros, but I thought the guy was just saying that he couldnt find it. So I was all cocky thinking, "Hah, he couldn't find it... silly pirate... bet I do before he does!.." then...I found it =/

Thanks to Freedom for repping me in.

a dynamic pasword would also require cookies to be placed on the new user's computer so that if they refreshed the page for whatever reason it would not change..... but then this would create problem on the server's side since it would have to maintain this list of session cookies, the time of cookie creation etc

anyway its not really necessary since if they actually cant find it, why would they assume that they could access the main intro forums to copy the secret password....if they cant find it by using Ctrl+F ,they'll probably just read all the rules and then find it....tbh we might as well tell them if they've read the rules and still cant find it after 10 times....lol after all they would have probably have remembered all of it off by heart, but accidentally skimmed over the password

also the argh i cant find it, if they see that why would they actually think thats the password until they read it and see it

i reckon theres no need to change the rules :P too much effort for nothing (stupid/slow users can be good users on private trackers too....i think?) haha

haha, very good points. We don't necessarily need cookies though. A dynamic text that reports back to a msql database is about it. If they refresh the page then they'll have to find it again =P mwhahaha.

Anyhow I believe you are correct, it would be too much stress on the new server probable and too much work for one little thing. The process of going through applications would be so much more painful and i know how much effort the mods/admins put out of their time to review these application already. Maybe slow people have a place in private trackers after all, maybe not as seeders though haha......ya bad pun?

just to let you know that before posting suggestions I would suggest to you that you read back at other posts because just to let you know this suggestion was already suggested in the past. So again please if your going to post in here or start a thread anywhere on the site make sure that the post doesnt already exits. There is countless suggestions about the secret password and last I knew staff was looking into ways of improving the secret password

I am completely aware of how to create a thread thank you. however, it seems I have overlooked this just once. Usually i check for similar ideas before posting. Don't worry about that in the future, but for now it was just spur of the moment kinda idea and being your own idea somehow i thought was original if that leads to any explanation into the creation of this thread.

But I think I owe TI an apology here, because I hate similar threads as much as you do hummingbird. If what you said is already underway it just reflects my involvement/activity here is lacking.

Anyhow, if we could have a mod close this thread that would be great.
    Thanks again everyone.
