--- ok , about Vegas's idea : we already have a tracker's list that put each and everyone of them into Low, Middle and High Class Sections, using an Rarity Poll is the same exact idea... the majority of those trackers, from the Review Section, are just Low Level Class, some of Middle, and even fewer of High Class... I think it's quite pointless to re-redo and/ or add a Rarity Poll, when we have that but in a different kinda way...too much work for the same result, and plus that person who would/ will do the review will have different views on the tracker than the rest of the users who have an account there... so my suggestion would be, why don't we put a voting poll in each review with the stats like : Pretimes, Speeds, Content, Forums ( or any other category ) and may even include Rarity as well...so we let the users decide about that tracker's stats.... so you'd have a poll and a tracker's review and so when people enter to read about the tracker would see what the majority says about the tracker, and the view of the reviewer...i just think it's easier this way and less time consumer ( or even resources )...there are dozen of low level and middle level trackers, maybe we need something to say which are good and which are ... well...not that good...and because not everyone can get access to an High level tracker, maybe that poll will just separate the trackers we all know and have success of those who are just on their way... also the poll could be made with the usual categories mentioned above, but with special categories for each genre in part : TV, Adult, Games.... including a special ( or more ) category added to the "base "ones ... it is only a thought

Sorry for the delay in my answer, been away for a couple of days.

With Google docs you can create a form that will post the data directly into a spreadsheet (did this myself). The data from the spreadsheet should in theory be available to a script for processing (did not try this myself). The form itself can easily be integrated into any HTML page via an iFrame.

BTN should be categorized under ratioless.

Hmmm, I think I understand. But iframe is an HTML tag, and won't work here since TI will only interpret bbcode. So this approach is kind of stymied at step one.

Actually the form itself can be hosted by Google and a link placed to the form. Of course this is just a workaround and a form can be created on T-I and data placed directly into a T-I database. It is just that Google docs already have in place the collaborative tools needed to collect and update the data plus it will offload some server work from T-I. I will try to make time to create a simple proof of concept form/table by the end of the week.

I'm not sure how I missed this post, sorry. But yeah, I would be interested in seeing a working version of what you're talking about. I could see this being a handy little solution to all kinds of problems.

However, for our specific problem I don't think it's really a good solution for TI. We're talking about taking data that fundamentally belongs to TI, and housing it outside of TI. Yes, we would have the control of a form, but then who controls the data (the spreadsheet) itself? Me? Someone else? What if that person gets banned or doesn't want to do it anymore or maybe simply fucks up and deletes or corrupts the data? I personally would resist using anything other than TI as a source for the type of feature that spawned this discussion.

I see your point and have to agree. The bright side is that this is anyway at the end of the project cycle and is not really a requirement. I think we should first decide what data to standardize, we can then include it in the reviews and let your script to the data collecting and centralizing just as you suggested before.

I have tried to start a real life example on my rarbg.com review (http://www.torrent-invites.com/track...al-2010-a.html) by adding a Major Stats section to the template. So far I feel the following should be tracked:

    Major Stats:

    Site languages
    Alexa rank
    Total Members
    Total torrents
    Category torrents:
    Movies
    x264/HD Movies
    Music
    Games
    Software/Apps
    XXX
    Others
Some Yes/No stats could be added such as Freeleech, Bonus Point system
I feel the seed difficulty should also be ranked. What is the point on getting on a high level traffic if it will takes you months to seed to power user?

I think this approach should be fun and useful since it can be already incorporated in the reviews and updated by anybody until some consensus is reached about what is really important and what is optional.

i was looking through the reviews and i saw that some trackers are down for good... my suggestion : delete those who are down...

    for example :

    1. -- BlackRevolution ( BKR ) >>> http://www.torrent-invites.com/track...ic-2009-a.html

    2. -- Comic-Releech ( CoR ) >>> http://www.torrent-invites.com/track...sc-2009-a.html

    posted on 12/11/2009

    3. -- FTWR >>> http://www.torrent-invites.com/track...ne-2009-a.html

    4. -- U*-* >>> http://www.torrent-invites.com/track...ne-2007-a.html

    5. -- SceneFeed >>> http://www.torrent-invites.com/track...ne-2009-a.html

    6. -- SceneRace >>> http://www.torrent-invites.com/track...al-2009-a.html

    7. -- SCT >>> http://www.torrent-invites.com/track...ne-2009-a.html

plus there are 2 reviews on VLT

    1. -- >> http://www.torrent-invites.com/track...ng-2009-a.html

    2. -- >> http://www.torrent-invites.com/track...ng-2009-a.html

both from 2009, although the first one was made on 01/01/2010 and the second one on 01/04/2010

Or at least the title could be marked with a status flag as down something like:

    BlackRevolution | BKR | Music | 2009

just in case it might come up again later.

There is also a list on Tracker R.I.P List: List Of All Closed Trackers maybe that should be made sticky or a new sticky "Trackers Graveyard - dead or down trackers" topic created in the review section where the reviews can be moved along with a short comment on why.

I think it will only be fair not to let the hard work of people like you who write the reviews simply be deleted especially since even a dead tracker might present an interest if only for historical value.

i can't agree more... i'm trying to update some of the 2009 reviews that are incomplete or not so well done, and those "original" 2009 reviews could be deleted... when it comes to those which are down perm. or for a moment ( FTWR, U*-* -- PERM, and SCL, SCR -- TEMP ) could be moved in a Tracker's Graveyard as you suggested, cause you never know...
