    Default Automated Invite thread closure

I feel it would be beneficial to have a lifespan on invite threads, based on activity. ie Invite threads with x months inactivity are closed automatically, pending reopening by OP. This will help prevent necro'ing of threads, keep more active threads higher up page and give a more reactive invite forum, based on a more active userbase..

I think this is a good suggestion.
Although I haven't been here for long I find a lot of threads with invites for trackers that I am interested in and the user hasn't posted there or been active on the forum for months.

This seems like a good idea.
I would also suggest after closing the threads to move them to a 'graveyard' forum.

This is definitely doable. The only limitation is that it threads would be closed for inactivity if nobody posts in the in X amount of days rather than just the person that started the thread. Will wait a bit to see how much support there is for this feature, both from regular members and staff.

    What a great idea!

There are tons of old invite threads open and being locked automatedly would clarify that the thread is dead already.

This could be usable also for Invite requests and bonus giveaways too.

In the interim, how about an option in the advanced search to order our searches based on most recent "started by (username) on (date)" instead of the last post to that thread...

There are threads opened a long time ago that are still active. I think that closing the ones that aren't is really the best option.

This is something somewhat unrelated to automatic thread closure, but is something that may be coming soon as part of an upgrade to the forum's search ;)

Automatic thread closure will be coming very soon along with some additional smaller updates. Threads that are inactive for 14 days from the last post date will be automatically closed, but can be reopened by the person that started the thread. This will apply to any existing inactive threads as well.

Agreed, I was suggesting a band-aid until then.
