I think this is a fantastic idea, if someone was willing to design some. I do really like the current one and wouldn't change it but I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea.

Personally I think some options would be great, but it really is quite an effort to build a new stylesheet, unless using one of the standard ones available for vBulletin I guess.

Anyway... I need to agree with adenai that there are more important things. Despite this I still voted "yes" as I feel it would be a great "nice to have".

Sure it's a good idea to select our forum's theme but our current dark theme is perfect .
Our dark theme with the white and grey font colours makes TI royal

This topic was kaboshed by (If I remember correctly) Dave back in January this year. At that time he (or one of the top Mods) critiqued the proposal by defending the distinctive and edgy (current) layout theme, saying 'why would you want anything different?'. And the topic was summarily "Closed".

If it were my site I believe I would take that same position. It is nice to say 'this is what we are, this is how we do it, and this is our 'signature' - If you want something different...'. I get that - like the French open is Terra Cotta, and Wimbledon is Green with white lines - don't like the green?, go to the US open.

Also on a more practical note, it allows everyone to design their avatars and sigs knowing the background colour and so if someones sig looks god-awful with an abrasive colour combination we know that it is Supposed To Look Like Shite! If we all had different themes, how would we know for sure?

That said, and in defense of the proposal, it is my belief that the designers of this site used a Trinitron screen, or LCD, which for the most part is A-OK but I sometimes use an old Radius screen that uses different technology and I can say that there is no way on gods earth that I can read this site with any definition of ease. And I can not adjust it to achieve any plausible legibility. This site is not friendly to vintage equipment.

I simply wish one could turn all the light-grey text to white for legibility on older screens or outdoor reading - the rest of the site is TI proprietorial prerogative and should remain intact. So I would vote NO - if I voted that is.
